True Blood seventh and final season starts tonight. With the less than favorable fan reaction to last season, one would hope that the 7th is a redeemer.
The season starts where last we were left with Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) as town mayor and Merlottes now renamed to Bellfleurs since the owner is now Arlene (Carrie Preston). There is the quagmire of the Hep-V infected vamps closing in on the small town and Bellfleurs with the main characters getting set to battle with the zombie-like vampires.
I’m personally hoping that the plot focuses less on the drama and more on action. I sincerely hope that Eric is not dead – but I really have no idea if he is going to show up in the first episode or not. Of course we all know that Jason and Sookie have new relationships but those new bonds will be tested with the advent of zombie-like vamps invading the quiet domesticity of Bon Temps. There is also the sad endeavor of Jessica protecting Andy and his last fae daughter without the exchange of blood to make up for or at least show some form of regret for killing the other four fae daughters. I’m not sure that anything she does will make up for it – but at least she isn’t completely heartless.
Watch tonight at 9 PM on HBO.
